I and many of my students have forward head, where the chin tends to lead. I would assume this closes the back of the neck. I have a lot of stiffness in this area. Can you comment this?
Hello Kirsti, the portal of energy at the back of the neck is more of an energetic presence than a physical one. It is considered to be entry point for lower vibrations and even psychic attacks into our energetic body. I have not really seen in over 30 years of teaching a direct link between the physical and energetic in that area of the body. Of course that doesn't mean it doesn't exist, its just something that has not come up with my students. It's a great question though and one I shall reflect on.
When you write forward head are you meaning the ears don't sit over the shoulders?
Great question Brenda, i tend to massage in a circular rhythm starting at the centre of the back of the neck and then expanding the circle until it reaches to the sides of my neck. I actually don’t think too much about it and in essence let my fingers intuitively do what they need to do. Does that help? xox
Thanks for responding Carole. Yes. I am referring to the ears being forward of the head, which creates a lot of tension in that exact spot for me.

Carole, exactly where do you place the drop of oil on the back of the neck. All over or on any of the points on the back of the neck?
